Daily life with a chronic disease is stressful enough, let alone the financial burden it incurs. Join the Good Days campaign and donate, send an e-card, or visit our online store to help make a difference for someone battling chronic disease every day.
Shelter. Food. Water. We need all of these to live. Yet, for people living with chronic disease, they also need to take their daily medications. Unfortunately, medications can be very costly. The co-payments for people with insurance can cost anywhere from $300 to $3,000 per month. Furthermore, half of all personal bankruptcies are the result of medical debt by those with health insurance.
People coping with chronic disease shouldn’t have to choose between paying their rent or paying for their medication – both are vital to living. Fortunately, Chronic Disease Fund understands the need to help the underinsured and is here to help as many people as possible who are battling chronic disease.
Chronic Disease Fund awards financial assistance on a calendar-year basis. Each application for assistance is reviewed by our team, taking into consideration income levels by geographic area, the number of household dependents, and current out-of-pocket medical expenses. Patients may enroll in our programs on a first-come, first-served basis, either directly through us or through one of our participating pharmacies.
The cost to support each patient varies significantly by disease, the drug(s) prescribed, and the type of insurance coverage (private insurance or Medicare Part D). We are limited in the financial support we can provide as funding for each disease is based on what we are able to raise each year through grants and contributions.
In 2010, Chronic Disease Fund helped more than 90,000 people get the medication they need. Help us increase that number this year by making a donation at http://www.gooddaysfromcdf.org/donate and spreading the word about Good Days.
